Brihat Samhita
उत्पातान्गणितविवर्जितो अपि बुद्ध्वा विख्यातो भवति नरेन्द्रवल्लभश्च । एतत्तन्मुनिवचनं रहस्यं उक्तं यज्ज्ञात्वा भवति नरस्त्रिकालदर्शी ॥ ४६-९८ ॥
Even though ignorant of astronomy and astrology, if a person should be well learned in the laws of portents, he would become famous and would be liked by the king. I have thus stated the secret views of the Ṛṣis by thorough study of which one acquires a knowledge of the past, of the present and of the future.
