प्रसवविकारे स्त्रीणां द्वित्रिचतुष्प्रभृतिसम्प्रसूतौ वा । हीनातिरिक्तकाले च देशकुलसंक्षयो भवति ॥ ४६-५१ ॥
In the case of portents (utpāta) connected with water, the priest shall perform Homa in honour of Varuṇa, reciting the mantras sacred to him.

prasavavikAre strINAM dvitricatuSprabhRtisamprasUtau vA । hInAtiriktakAle ca dezakulasaMkSayo bhavati ॥ 46-51 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptवडवाउष्ट्रमहिषगोहस्तिनीषु यमलौद्भवे रणमरणम् एषाम् । षण्मासात्सूतिफलं शान्तौ श्लोकौ च गर्गौक्तौ ॥ ४६-५२ ॥
If two, three, four or more children should be born to a woman at a time, or if the offspring should be of defective organs, or if it should be born with extra organs, the country would suffer miseries as well as the family.

vaDavAuSTramahiSagohastinISu yamalaudbhave raNamaraNam eSAm । SaNmAsAtsUtiphalaM zAntau zlokau ca gargauktau ॥ 46-52 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptनार्यः परस्य विषये त्यक्तव्यास्ता हितार्थिना । तर्पयेच्च द्विजान्कामैः शान्तिं चएवात्र कारयेत् ॥ ४६-५३ ॥
If a mare, a she-camel, a buffaloe or a cow should bear twins, these animals would perish after six months; in the case of portents (utpāta) connected with births, Garga has prescribed, in two stanzas, certain expiatory rites.

nAryaH parasya viSaye tyaktavyAstA hitArthinA । tarpayecca dvijAnkAmaiH zAntiM caevAtra kArayet ॥ 46-53 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptचतुष्पादाः स्वयूथेभ्यस्त्यक्तव्याः परभूमिषु । नगरं स्वामिनं यूथं अन्यथा तु विनाशयेत् ॥ ४६-५४ ॥
He (the husband) who desires prosperity should banish the woman to foreign lands and should satisfy Brāhmaṇas by the gift of what they are fond of, and shall also perform expiatory Homa ceremonies.

catuSpAdAH svayUthebhyastyaktavyAH parabhUmiSu । nagaraM svAminaM yUthaM anyathA tu vinAzayet ॥ 46-54 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptपरयोनावभिगमनं भवति तिरश्चां असाधु धेनूनाम् । उक्षाणो वाअन्योन्यं पिबति श्वा वा सुरभिपुत्रम् ॥ ४६-५५ ॥
In the case of quadrupeds, they too shall be separated from the herd and expelled to foreign lands; if not, the ruler of the towns as well as the herd of cattle would perish.
