नीराजने निवृत्ते यया दिशा खञ्जनं नृपो यान्तम् । पश्येत्तया गतस्य क्षिप्रं अरातिर्वशं उपैति ॥ ४५-११ ॥
If the king should march in the direction in which the wagtail should be seen to fly immediately after the Lustration ceremony is over, he would triumph over his enemies.
english translation
nIrAjane nivRtte yayA dizA khaJjanaM nRpo yAntam । pazyettayA gatasya kSipraM arAtirvazaM upaiti ॥ 45-11 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतस्मिन्निधिर्भवति मैथुनं एति यस्मिन् यस्मिंस्तु छर्दयति तत्र तले अस्ति काचम् । अङ्गारं अप्युपदिशन्ति पुरीषणे अस्य तत्कौतुकापनयनाय खनेद्धरित्रीम् ॥ ४५-१२ ॥
Where the wagtail should be seen to copulate, there would be treasure in the ground under; where it should be found to vomit, there will be crystal beads in the ground under it; where it passes stool, there would be found charcoal under ground; these may be found to be the case on actual examination.
english translation
tasminnidhirbhavati maithunaM eti yasmin yasmiMstu chardayati tatra tale asti kAcam । aGgAraM apyupadizanti purISaNe asya tatkautukApanayanAya khaneddharitrIm ॥ 45-12 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptमृतविकलविभिन्नरोगितः स्वतनुसमानफलप्रदः खगः । धनकृदभिनिलीयमानको वियति च बन्धुसमागमप्रदः ॥ ४५-१३ ॥
If the wagtail should be found dead, the king would die; if of broken limbs, the king would suffer similarly; if covered with wounds, a similar fate will befall the king; if found to enter its nest, the king would get wealth and if perceived in its flight his relatives will visit him.

mRtavikalavibhinnarogitaH svatanusamAnaphalapradaH khagaH । dhanakRdabhinilIyamAnako viyati ca bandhusamAgamapradaH ॥ 45-13 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptनृपतिरपि शुभं शुभप्रदेशे खगं अवलोक्य महीतले विदध्यात् । सुरभिकुसुमधूपयुक्तं अर्घं शुभं अभिनन्दिम् एवं एति वृद्धिम् ॥ ४५-१४ ॥
If the king should chance to see in some pure spot a wagtail foreboding good, he shall then and there perform pūjā on the ground with sandal paste, flower and perfumed smoke; he is then sure to prosper.
english translation
nRpatirapi zubhaM zubhapradeze khagaM avalokya mahItale vidadhyAt । surabhikusumadhUpayuktaM arghaM zubhaM abhinandim evaM eti vRddhim ॥ 45-14 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअशुभं अपि विलोक्य खञ्जनं द्विजगुरुसाधुसुरार्चने रतः । न नृपतिरशुभं समाप्नुयात् न यदि दिनानि च सप्त मांसभुक् ॥ ४५-१५ ॥
If he should chance to see a wagtail foreboding evil, he shall perform pūjā to Brāhmaṇas, preceptors, yogins and the Devas; he will escape the evil effects. He shall abstain from meal for seven days.

azubhaM api vilokya khaJjanaM dvijagurusAdhusurArcane rataH । na nRpatirazubhaM samApnuyAt na yadi dinAni ca sapta mAMsabhuk ॥ 45-15 ॥
