प्रपूरणे चौच्छ्रयणे प्रवेशे स्नाने तथा माल्यविधौ विसर्गे । पठेदिमान्नृपतिः सोपवासो मन्त्रान्शुभान्पुरुहूतस्य केतोः ॥ ४३-५६ ॥

During the filling ॥ of the vessel॥, the raising ॥ of the banner॥, the entry, the bath, as well as the flower-garland ceremony and the dismissal, the King, while observing a fast, should recite these auspicious mantras of Indra's banner.

prapUraNe caucchrayaNe praveze snAne tathA mAlyavidhau visarge । paThedimAnnRpatiH sopavAso mantrAnzubhAnpuruhUtasya ketoH ॥ 43-56 ॥

क्षत्र ध्वजऽदर्शफलार्धचन्द्रैर्विचित्रमालाकदलीइक्षुदण्डैः । सव्यालसिंहैः पिटकैर्गवाक्षैरलङ्कृतं दिक्षु च लोकपालैः ॥ ४३-५७ ॥

It was adorned with royal banners, mirrors, shields, and crescent-shaped blades, as well as with colorful garlands and the stalks of plantains and sugarcanes. It was further decorated with baskets featuring lions and predatory beasts, with latticed windows, and with the guardians of the world stationed in every direction.

अच्छिन्नरज्जुं दृढकाष्ठमातृकं सुश्लिष्टयन्त्रार्गलपादतोरणम् । उत्थापयेल्लक्ष्म सहस्रचक्षुषः सारद्रुमाभग्नकुमारिकान्वितम् ॥ ४३-५८ ॥

One should erect the emblem of the thousand-eyed Indra, which has unbroken ropes and a solid wooden frame. It is fitted with well-joined mechanical parts, bolts, pillars, and arches, and is constructed from the sturdy wood of excellent trees with unbroken young branches.

acchinnarajjuM dRDhakASThamAtRkaM suzliSTayantrArgalapAdatoraNam । utthApayellakSma sahasracakSuSaH sAradrumAbhagnakumArikAnvitam ॥ 43-58 ॥

अविरतजनरावं मङ्गलऽशीःप्रणामैः । पटुपटहमृदङ्गैः शङ्खभेर्यादिभिश्च । श्रुतिविहितवचोभिः पापठद्भिश्च विप्रैर् अशुभ विहत शब्दं केतुं उत्थापयेच् च ॥ ४३-५९ ॥

Avirata janaravam mangalāshiḥ pranamaiḥ. Patupatahamridangas, conches, drums and other instruments were played. One should raise the Ketu by chanting the words prescribed in the Vedic literature and by the brāhmaṇas who recite the Vedic mantras.

फलदधिघृतलाजाक्षौद्रपुष्पाग्रहस्तैः प्रणिपतितशिरोभिस् तुष्टवद्भिश् च पौरैः । वृतम् अनिमिषभर्तुः केतुं ईशः प्रजानाम् अरिनगरनताग्रं कारयेद्द्विड् बधाय ॥ ४३-६० ॥

The citizens bowed their heads and were satisfied with the offerings of fruits, yogurt, butter, salt, honey and flowers. The Supreme Personality of Godhead, who is surrounded by His husband without a moment’s hesitation, should make the city of enemies bow down to the enemy and kill the enemy.
