कुर्यादहनि चतुर्थे पूरणं इन्द्रध्वजस्य शास्त्रज्ञः । मनुना चऽगमगीतान्मन्त्रानेतान्पठेन्नियतः ॥ ४३-५१ ॥

On the fourth day, a person learned in the scriptures should perform the completion of the Indra-banner. Moreover, having become self-controlled, he should recite these mantras revealed in the sacred tradition by Manu.

kuryAdahani caturthe pUraNaM indradhvajasya zAstrajJaH । manunA ca'gamagItAnmantrAnetAnpaThenniyataH ॥ 43-51 ॥

हरार्कवैवस्वतशक्रसोमैर्धनेशवैश्वानरपाशभृद्भिः । महर्षिसंघैः सदिगप्सरोभिः शुक्राङ्गिरःस्कन्दमरुद्गणैश्च ॥ ४३-५२ ॥

With Śiva, Sūrya, Yama, Indra, and Soma; with Kubera, Agni, and Varuṇa; with the multitudes of great sages, the celestial nymphs along with the cardinal directions, and the hosts of Śukra, Aṅgiras, Skanda, and the Maruts.

harArkavaivasvatazakrasomairdhanezavaizvAnarapAzabhRdbhiH । maharSisaMghaiH sadigapsarobhiH zukrAGgiraHskandamarudgaNaizca ॥ 43-52 ॥

यथा त्वं ऊर्जस्करणएकरूपैः समर्चितस्त्वाभरणैरुदारैः । तथेह तान्याभरणानि यागे शुभानि सम्प्रीतमना गृहाण ॥ ४३-५३ ॥

Just as you have been honored with magnificent ornaments of a singular and empowering nature, so too, with a heart full of joy, please accept these auspicious ornaments here at this sacrifice.

english translation

yathA tvaM UrjaskaraNaekarUpaiH samarcitastvAbharaNairudAraiH । tatheha tAnyAbharaNAni yAge zubhAni samprItamanA gRhANa ॥ 43-53 ॥

अजो अव्ययः शाश्वत एकरूपो विष्णुर्वराहः पुरुषः पुराणः । त्वं अन्तकः सर्वहरः कृशानुः सहस्रशीर्षः शतमन्युरीड्यः ॥ ४३-५४ ॥

Unborn, imperishable, eternal, and uniform in nature, he is Viṣṇu, the Boar, the ancient Puruṣa. You are the bringer of the end, the all-destroyer, and the sacrificial fire; you are the thousand-headed Indra, worthy of all praise.

english translation

ajo avyayaH zAzvata ekarUpo viSNurvarAhaH puruSaH purANaH । tvaM antakaH sarvaharaH kRzAnuH sahasrazIrSaH zatamanyurIDyaH ॥ 43-54 ॥

कविं सप्तजिह्वं त्रातारं इन्द्रं स्ववितारं सुरेशम् । ह्वयामि शक्रं वृत्रहणं सुषेणं अस्माकं वीरा उत्तरा भवन्तु ॥ ४३-५५ ॥

The learned, seven-tongued, savior, Indra, his own protector, Lord of the gods. I shall call upon Indra, the killer of Vṛtrāsura, and Suṣeṇa. May our heroes become our uttermost heroes.

kaviM saptajihvaM trAtAraM indraM svavitAraM surezam । hvayAmi zakraM vRtrahaNaM suSeNaM asmAkaM vIrA uttarA bhavantu ॥ 43-55 ॥
