गिरयो अञ्जनचूर्णसन्निभा यदि वा बाष्पनिरुद्धकन्दराः । कृकवाकुविलोचनौपमाः परिवेषाः शशिनश्च वृष्टिदाः ॥ २८-०६ ॥
If mountains should appear black like collyrium, if the caves should be felt very warm or if the lunar halo should appear like the colour of the eye of the cock, there will be immediate rain.
english translation
girayo aJjanacUrNasannibhA yadi vA bASpaniruddhakandarAH । kRkavAkuvilocanaupamAH pariveSAH zazinazca vRSTidAH ॥ 28-06 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptविनाउपघातेन पिपीलिकानाम् अण्डौपसंक्रान्तिरहिव्यवायः । द्रुमावरोहश् च भुजङ्गमानां वृष्टेर्निमित्तानि गवां प्लुतं च ॥ २८-०७ ॥
If the ant, when undisturbed and of its own accord, should leave its hole with its egg, if serpents should be found to copulate or to climb up trees, there will be immediate rain.

vinAupaghAtena pipIlikAnAm aNDaupasaMkrAntirahivyavAyaH । drumAvarohaz ca bhujaGgamAnAM vRSTernimittAni gavAM plutaM ca ॥ 28-07 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतरुशिखरौपगताः कृकलासा गगनतलस्थितदृष्टिनिपाताः । यदि च गवां रविवीक्षणं ऊर्ध्वं निपतति वारि तदा न चिरेण ॥ २८-०८ ॥
If the blood-sucker (lacerta cristata) should be found to stare at the sky from the tops of trees, or if cows should raise up their heads and look at the Sun there will be immediate rain.

taruzikharaupagatAH kRkalAsA gaganatalasthitadRSTinipAtAH । yadi ca gavAM ravivIkSaNaM UrdhvaM nipatati vAri tadA na cireNa ॥ 28-08 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptनैच्छन्ति विनिर्गमं गृहाद्धुन्वन्ति श्रवणान्खुरानपि । पशवः पशुवच्च कुक्कुरा यद्यम्भः पततीति निर्दिशेत् ॥ २८-०९ ॥
If the sheep should be found reluctant to go out, if they should shake their ears or kick with their legs or if dogs should be found to do the same, there will be immediate rain.
english translation
naicchanti vinirgamaM gRhAddhunvanti zravaNAnkhurAnapi । pazavaH pazuvacca kukkurA yadyambhaH patatIti nirdizet ॥ 28-09 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptयदा स्थिता गृहपटलेषु कुक्कुरा रुदन्ति वा यदि विततं वियत्मुखाः । दिवा तडिद्यदि च पिनाकिदिग्भवा तदा क्षमा भवति समैव वारिणा ॥ २८-१० ॥
If dogs should be found to get to the tops of houses, if they should look at the sky all round, or if during the day lightning should appear in the north-east, there will be immediate rain and the Earth will be covered with water.
english translation
yadA sthitA gRhapaTaleSu kukkurA rudanti vA yadi vitataM viyatmukhAH । divA taDidyadi ca pinAkidigbhavA tadA kSamA bhavati samaiva vAriNA ॥ 28-10 ॥
