नामाङ्कितैस्तैरुदगादिकुम्भैः प्रदक्षिणं श्रावणमासपूर्वैः । पूर्णैः स मासः सलिलस्य दाता स्रुतैर् अवृष्टिः परिकल्प्यं ऊनैः ॥ २४-२६ ॥
If, on examining, the waters of the four pots from the north representing the four months from Srāvaṇa should be found full there will be good rain in the several months; if in any pot the water should have oozed out completely, there will be no rain in the month it represents and if incompletely, there will be a proportionate decrease in the quantity of the rainfall.

nAmAGkitaistairudagAdikumbhaiH pradakSiNaM zrAvaNamAsapUrvaiH । pUrNaiH sa mAsaH salilasya dAtA srutair avRSTiH parikalpyaM UnaiH ॥ 24-26 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअन्यैश्च कुम्भैर्नृपनामचिह्नैर् देशाङ्कितैश्चाप्यपरैस्तथएव । भग्नैः स्रुतैर्न्यूनजलैः सुपूर्णैर् भाग्यानि वाच्यानि यथानुरूपम् ॥ २४-२७ ॥
If it should be desired to ascertain the fate of any sovereign or country during the year, there should be placed fresh pots each to represent a sovereign or a country. If on examining, any of these pots should be found split or broken the sovereign or the country represented will suffer miseries; if the water should have disappeared, then also they will suffer and if full, they will be happy.

anyaizca kumbhairnRpanAmacihnair dezAGkitaizcApyaparaistathaeva । bhagnaiH srutairnyUnajalaiH supUrNair bhAgyAni vAcyAni yathAnurUpam ॥ 24-27 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptदूरगो निकटगो अथ वा शशी दक्षिणे पथि यथा तथा स्थितः । रोहिणीं यदि युनक्ति सर्वथा कष्टं एव जगतो विनिर्दिशेत् ॥ २४-२८ ॥
If the course of the Moon should lie to the south of the stars of the Rohiṇī group whether near or far, mankind will be afflicted with miseries.
english translation
dUrago nikaTago atha vA zazI dakSiNe pathi yathA tathA sthitaH । rohiNIM yadi yunakti sarvathA kaSTaM eva jagato vinirdizet ॥ 24-28 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptस्पृशन्नुदग्याति यदा शशाङ्कस् तदा सुवृष्टिर्बहुलौपसर्गा । असंस्पृशन्योगं उदक्समेतः करोति वृष्टिं विपुलां शिवं च ॥ २४-२९ ॥
If the Moon should pass just touching the northern-most star of the group, there will be good rain, but there will also be miseries; if she should pass to the north of the group and not in contact with it there will be abundant rain and mankind will be happy.

spRzannudagyAti yadA zazAGkas tadA suvRSTirbahulaupasargA । asaMspRzanyogaM udaksametaH karoti vRSTiM vipulAM zivaM ca ॥ 24-29 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptरोहिणीशकटमध्यसंस्थिते चन्द्रमस्यशरणीकृता जनाः । क्वापि यान्ति शिशुयाचिताशनाः सूर्यतप्तपिठराम्बुपायिनः ॥ २४-३० ॥
If the Moon should enter the Rohiṇī group and pass through its centre, mankind will be rendered helpless and troubled by the cries of children for food, they will travel to foreign lands, drinking the waters of muddy pools from their broken bowls.
