यस्यां दिशि दृश्यन्ते विशन्ति ताराग्रहा रविं सर्वे । भवति भयं दिशि तस्यां आयुधकोपक्षुधऽआतङ्कैः ॥ २०-०१ ॥
People living in that quarter of the earth will suffer from weapons, from hunger and from other miseries in which direction a planet reappears after, or disappears by, its conjunction with the Sun.
english translation
yasyAM dizi dRzyante vizanti tArAgrahA raviM sarve । bhavati bhayaM dizi tasyAM AyudhakopakSudha'AtaGkaiH ॥ 20-01 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptचक्रधनुःशृङ्गाटकदण्डपुरप्रासवज्रसंस्थानाः । क्षुद्वृष्टिकरा लोके समराय च मानवैन्द्राणाम् ॥ २०-०२ ॥
If when the planets meet so as to form a circle, a bow, a triangle, a rod, a citadel, a lance or a Vajrāyuddha, mankind will suffer from starvation, from drought and from war.
english translation
cakradhanuHzRGgATakadaNDapuraprAsavajrasaMsthAnAH । kSudvRSTikarA loke samarAya ca mAnavaindrANAm ॥ 20-02 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptयस्मिन्खांशे दृश्या ग्रहमाला दिनकरे दिनान्तगते । तत्र अन्यो भवति नृपः परचक्रौपद्रवश्च महान् ॥ २०-०३ ॥
The rulers of those parts of the earth will suffer from foreign invasions and be dispossessed of their countries by foreign princes which correspond to the quarters of the heavens in which the several planets are seen to meet as described above towards night-fall.

yasminkhAMze dRzyA grahamAlA dinakare dinAntagate । tatra anyo bhavati nRpaH paracakraupadravazca mahAn ॥ 20-03 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptतस्मिन्न् ऋक्षे कुर्युः समागमं तज्जनान्ग्रहा हन्युः । अविभेदिनः परस्परं अमलमयूखाः शिवास्तेषाम् ॥ २०-०४ ॥
The objects and persons represented by the several asterisms in which the planets happen to meet will suffer; but if the discs of the planets should be bright and apart from one another there will be happiness in the land.

tasminn RkSe kuryuH samAgamaM tajjanAngrahA hanyuH । avibhedinaH parasparaM amalamayUkhAH zivAsteSAm ॥ 20-04 ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptग्रहसंवर्तसमागमसम्मोहसमाजसन्निपातऽख्याः । कोशश्चेत्येतेषां अभिधास्ये लक्षणं सफलं ॥ २०-०५ ॥
Planetary meetings are of five sorts known technically as—l. Saṃvarta, 2. Samāgama, 3. Sammoha, 4. Samāja, 5. Sannipāta and 6. Kośa. We will now define these and state their effects.
