जातानि कुत्र चिदतोयतया विनाशम् मृच्छन्ति पुष्टिं अपराणि जलोक्षितानि । सस्यानि मन्दं अभिवर्षति वृत्रशत्रुर् वर्षे दिवाकरसुतस्य सदा प्रवृत्ते ॥ १९-२१ ॥

Some crops, lacking water, perish in certain places, while others, well supplied with water, attain full growth. When Indra, the slayer of Vṛtra, pours rain only gently, and when the year governed by the son of the Sun (Saturn) prevails continuously.

english translation

jAtAni kutra cidatoyatayA vinAzam mRcchanti puSTiM aparANi jalokSitAni । sasyAni mandaM abhivarSati vRtrazatrur varSe divAkarasutasya sadA pravRtte ॥ 19-21 ॥

अणुरपटुमयूखो नीचगो अन्यैर्जितो वा न सकलफलदाता पुष्टिदो अतो अन्यथा यः । यदशुभं अशुभे अब्दे मासजं तस्य वृद्धिः शुभफलं अपि चएवं याप्यं अन्योन्यतायाम् ॥ १९-२२ ॥

When the rays are weak or dull, when the planet moves in a low position or is overcome by others, it does not bestow all results, nor does it give nourishment as expected. In an inauspicious year, whatever evil arises month by month increases, and even auspicious results become dependent and weakened through mutual interaction.

aNurapaTumayUkho nIcago anyairjito vA na sakalaphaladAtA puSTido ato anyathA yaH । yadazubhaM azubhe abde mAsajaM tasya vRddhiH zubhaphalaM api caevaM yApyaM anyonyatAyAm ॥ 19-22 ॥
