चैत्रस्य बहुलपक्षे ह्यष्टम्यां मूलसंयुते चन्द्रे । ह्य् उपवासः कर्तव्यो विष्णुं सम्पूज्य धिष्ण्यं च ॥ १०५-०६ ॥
A person shall worship Viṣṇu and the Nakṣatrapuruṣa on the 8th lunar day of the dark half of the month of Caitra when the Moon passes through the asterism of Mūla and shall fast that day.
english translation
दद्याद्व्रते समाप्ते घृतपूर्णं भाजनं सुवर्णयुतम् । विप्राय कालविदुषे सरत्नवस्त्रं स्वशक्त्या च ॥ १०५-०७ ॥
At the close of the fasting, the person shall give away to a Brāhmin astronomer a vessel filled with ghee together with gold, gems and clothes to the extent of his power.

अन्नैः क्षीरघृतौत्कटैः सह गुडैर्विप्रान्समभ्यर्चयेद् दद्यात्तेषु सुवर्ण वस्त्ररजतं लावण्यं इच्छन्नरः । पादऋक्षात्प्रभृति क्रमादुपवसन्नङ्गऋक्षनामस्वपि कुर्यात्केशवपूजनं स्वविधिना धिष्ण्यस्य पूजां तथा ॥ १०५-०८ ॥
A person, who desires a bright and beautiful appearance, shall feed Brāhmaṇas with rice mixed with milk, ghee and sugar and shall fast on days when the Moon passes through the several asterisms representing the features of the Nakṣatrapuruṣa beginning from the feet and he shall then worship both Viṣṇu and the Nakṣatrapuruṣa.

प्रलम्बबाहुः पृथुपीनवक्षाः क्षपाकरऽस्यः सितचारुदन्तः । गजेन्द्रगामी कमलऽयताक्षः स्त्रीचित्तहारी स्मरतुल्यमूर्तिः ॥ १०५-०९ ॥
A person who fasts and worships as stated above will have long arms, broad and firm breast, a moon-like face, white beautiful teeth, the gait of an elephant, eyes long like the leaves of the lotus and appearance calculated to attract the eyes of women and a body as fine as that of Cupid.

शरदमलपूर्णचन्द्रद्युतिसदृशमुखी सरोजदलनेत्रा । रुचिरदशना सुकर्णा भ्रमरौदरसन्निभैः केशैः ॥ १०५-१० ॥
A woman who fasts and worships as prescribed above will have a face as bright and spotless as the summer Sun, eyes as soft and large as the petals of the lotus, beautiful teeth, fine ears, and hair as black as the bee.
