Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra
स्थिरत्वाच्च दशाब्दानां स्थिराख्येति निगद्यते । ब्रह्मखेटाश्रितर्क्षादिर्दशेयं परिवर्तते ॥ १६९॥
In this system the Dasha of the 12 Rāśis begins from the Brahm Grah Ashrit Rāśi. The Dashas are counted onwards from the odd Rāśis and in the reverse order from the even Rāśis.

sthiratvAcca dazAbdAnAM sthirAkhyeti nigadyate । brahmakheTAzritarkSAdirdazeyaM parivartate ॥ 169॥
