एवं सर्वं समालोच्य जातकस्य फलं वदेत् ॥ १६६॥
The prediction should be made after calculating the Dashas in this manner.

evaM sarvaM samAlocya jAtakasya phalaM vadet ॥ 166॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptक्रमादुत्क्रमतो वाऽपि धर्मभावपदक्रमात् । लग्नराशिं समारभ्य विज्ञश्चरदशां नयेत् ॥ १६७॥
If the Rāśi in Dharm Bhava is in an odd Pad, the counting should be from the Rāśi in the Lagn onwards. The counting would be in the reverse order, if the Pad is even. The Dashas of Rāśis have to be fixed, keeping this in view.
english translation
kramAdutkramato vA'pi dharmabhAvapadakramAt । lagnarAziM samArabhya vijJazcaradazAM nayet ॥ 167॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअथाऽहं सम्प्रवक्ष्यामि स्थिरसंज्ञां दशां द्विज । चरे सप्त स्थिरे चाऽष्टौ द्वन्द्वे नव समाः स्मृताः ॥ १६८॥
Maharishi Parashar said. Now I am going to describe the Sthir Dasha. In this Dasha system 7, 8 and 9 years are the Dasha spans of the Movable (Char), Fixed (Sthir) and Dual (Dvisva Bhava) Rāśis.
english translation
athA'haM sampravakSyAmi sthirasaMjJAM dazAM dvija । care sapta sthire cA'STau dvandve nava samAH smRtAH ॥ 168॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptस्थिरत्वाच्च दशाब्दानां स्थिराख्येति निगद्यते । ब्रह्मखेटाश्रितर्क्षादिर्दशेयं परिवर्तते ॥ १६९॥
In this system the Dasha of the 12 Rāśis begins from the Brahm Grah Ashrit Rāśi. The Dashas are counted onwards from the odd Rāśis and in the reverse order from the even Rāśis.

sthiratvAcca dazAbdAnAM sthirAkhyeti nigadyate । brahmakheTAzritarkSAdirdazeyaM parivartate ॥ 169॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptयोऽसौ ब्रह्मग्रहः प्रोक्तः कथं स ज्ञायते मुने । इति स्पष्टतरं ब्रूहि कृपाऽस्ति यदि ते मयि ॥ १७०॥
Maitreya said. O great Sage! Now please enlighten me how the Brahm Grah is picked out in a chart. Maharishi Parashar said.

yo'sau brahmagrahaH proktaH kathaM sa jJAyate mune । iti spaSTataraM brUhi kRpA'sti yadi te mayi ॥ 170॥
