अथाऽतः सम्प्रवक्ष्यामि राययोगान् द्विजोत्तम । येषां विज्ञानमात्रेण राजपूज्यो जनो भवेत् ॥ १॥

O excellent of the Brahmins, I now narrate below the Raj Yogas, making one entitled to royal honour.

ये योगाः शम्भुना प्रोक्ताः पुरा शैलसुताग्रतः । तेषां सारमहं वक्ष्ये तवाग्रे द्विजनन्दन ॥ २॥

These were told to Parvati by Lord Shiva once upon a time, the gist of which is, as follows.

चिन्तयेत् कारकांशे वा जनुर्लग्नेऽथ वा द्विज । राजयोगकरौ द्वौ द्वौ स्फुटौ खेटौ प्रयत्नतः ॥ ३॥

Raj Yogas are to be known from the Karakāńś Lagn and the natal Lagn.

आत्मकारकपुत्राभ्यां योगमेकं प्रकल्पयेत् । तनुपञ्चमनाथाभ्यां तथैव द्विजसत्तम ॥ ४॥

On the one hand the pair of Atma Karak and Putr Karak should be considered and on the other hand the natal Lagn‟s Lord and Putr‟s Lord should be taken into consideration.

लग्नपुत्रेशयोरात्मपुत्रकारकयोर्द्वयोः । सम्बन्धात् पूर्णमर्धं वा पादं वीर्यानुसारतः ॥ ५॥

The effects, due to such association, will be full, or a half, or a quarter, according to their strengths.
