यदक्षरं वेदविदो वदन्ति विशन्ति यद्यतयो वीतरागाः । यदिच्छन्तो ब्रह्मचर्यं चरन्ति तत्ते पदं सङ्ग्रहेण प्रवक्ष्ये ॥ ८-११॥
That which is declared Imperishable by those who know the Vedas, that which the self-controlled (ascetics or Sannyasi) and passion-free enter, that desiring which celibacy is practiced that goal I will declare to thee in brief.
english translation
वेद के जानने वाले विद्वान जिसे अक्षर कहते हैं; रागरहित यत्नशील पुरुष जिसमें प्रवेश करते हैं; जिसकी इच्छा से (साधक गण) ब्रह्मचर्य का पालन करते हैं - उस पद (लक्ष्य) को मैं तुम्हें संक्षेप में कहूँगा।

yadakSaraM vedavido vadanti vizanti yadyatayo vItarAgAH । yadicchanto brahmacaryaM caranti tatte padaM saGgraheNa pravakSye ॥ 8-11॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptसर्वद्वाराणि संयम्य मनो हृदि निरुध्य च । मूर्ध्न्याधायात्मनः प्राणमास्थितो योगधारणाम् ॥ ८-१२॥
Having controlled all the passages (senses), having confined the mind in the heart, and having fixed his own vital force in the head, (and then) continuing in the firmness in yoga;

(इन्द्रियोंके) सम्पूर्ण द्वारोंको रोककर मन को हृदय में स्थिर करके और अपने प्राणोंको मस्तकमें स्थापित करके योगधारणामें सम्यक् प्रकारसे स्थित हुआ,

sarvadvArANi saMyamya mano hRdi nirudhya ca । mUrdhnyAdhAyAtmanaH prANamAsthito yogadhAraNAm ॥ 8-12॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptओमित्येकाक्षरं ब्रह्म व्याहरन्मामनुस्मरन् । यः प्रयाति त्यजन्देहं स याति परमां गतिम् ॥ ८-१३॥
Uttering the one-syllabled Om the Bramh and remembering Me, he who departs, leaving the body, attains to the Supreme Goal (eternal state).
english translation
जो साधक 'ऊँ' इस एक अक्षर ब्रह्मका उच्चारण और मेरा स्मरण करता हुआ शरीरको छोड़कर जाता है, वह परमगतिको प्राप्त होता है।
hindi translation
omityekAkSaraM brahma vyAharanmAmanusmaran । yaH prayAti tyajandehaM sa yAti paramAM gatim ॥ 8-13॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअनन्यचेताः सततं यो मां स्मरति नित्यशः । तस्याहं सुलभः पार्थ नित्ययुक्तस्य योगिनः ॥ ८-१४॥
O Partha , to that yogi of constant concentration and single-minded attention, who remembers Me uninterruptedly and for long, I am easy of attainment.
english translation
हे पार्थ ! अनन्यचित्तवाला जो मनुष्य मेरा नित्य-निरन्तर स्मरण करता है, उस नित्ययुक्त योगीके लिये मैं सुलभ हूँ अर्थात् उसको सुलभतासे प्राप्त हो जाता हूँ।

ananyacetAH satataM yo mAM smarati nityazaH । tasyAhaM sulabhaH pArtha nityayuktasya yoginaH ॥ 8-14॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptमामुपेत्य पुनर्जन्म दुःखालयमशाश्वतम् । नाप्नुवन्ति महात्मानः संसिद्धिं परमां गताः ॥ ८-१५॥
Having attained Me these great souls do not again take birth (here) which is the place of pain and is non-eternal: they have reached the highest perfection (liberation).
english translation
महात्मालोग मुझे प्राप्त करके दुःखालय और अशाश्वत पुनर्जन्मको प्राप्त नहीं होते; क्योंकि वे परमसिद्धिको प्राप्त हो गये हैं अर्थात् उनको परम प्रेमकी प्राप्ति हो गयी है।

mAmupetya punarjanma duHkhAlayamazAzvatam । nApnuvanti mahAtmAnaH saMsiddhiM paramAM gatAH ॥ 8-15॥
