ये यथा मां प्रपद्यन्ते तांस्तथैव भजाम्यहम् । मम वर्त्मानुवर्तन्ते मनुष्याः पार्थ सर्वशः ॥ ४-११ ॥
O Partha! Howsoever men try to worship Me, so do I welcome them. By whatever path they travel, it leads to Me at last.
english translation
हे पार्थ! जो भक्त जिस प्रकार मुझे भजते हैं, मैं उन पर वैसे ही अनुग्रह करता हूँ;क्योंकि सभी मनुष्य सब प्रकारसे मेरे मार्गका अनुकरण करते हैं।

काङ्क्षन्तः कर्मणां सिद्धिं यजन्त इह देवताः । क्षिप्रं हि मानुषे लोके सिद्धिर्भवति कर्मजा ॥ ४-१२ ॥
Those who desire the fruits of their ritualistic acts, sacrifice to the gods here; for, success born of such acts quickly accrues in the world of men.

कर्मोंकी सिद्धि (फल) चाहनेवाले मनुष्य देवताओंकी उपासना किया करते हैं; क्योंकि इस मनुष्यलोकमें कर्मोंसे उत्पन्न होनेवाली सिद्धि जल्दी मिल जाती है।

चातुर्वर्ण्यं मया सृष्टं गुणकर्मविभागशः । तस्य कर्तारमपि मां विद्ध्यकर्तारमव्ययम् ॥ ४-१३ ॥
The system of four stations was created by Me according to distinction of Gunas and Karma. Though I am their creator, know Me as non-agent and immutable.

मेरे द्वारा गुणों और कर्मोंके विभागपूर्वक चारों वर्णोंकी रचना की गयी है। उस-(सृष्टि-रचना आदि-) का कर्ता होनेपर भी मुझ अव्यय रमेश्वरको तू अकर्ता जान।

न मां कर्माणि लिम्पन्ति न मे कर्मफले स्पृहा । इति मां योऽभिजानाति कर्मभिर्न स बध्यते ॥ ४-१४ ॥
Works do not contaminate Me. In Me there is no desire for fruits of actions. He who understands Me thus is not bound by actions.

कर्म मुझे लिप्त नहीं करते; न मुझे कर्मफल में स्पृहा है। इस प्रकार मुझे जो जानता है, वह भी कर्मों से नहीं बन्धता है।

एवं ज्ञात्वा कृतं कर्म पूर्वैरपि मुमुक्षुभिः । कुरु कर्मैव तस्मात्त्वं पूर्वैः पूर्वतरं कृतम् ॥ ४-१५ ॥
Having known thus, duties were performed even by the ancient seekers of salvation. Thererfore you undertake action itself as was performed earlier by the ancient ones.

पूर्वकालके मुमुक्षुओंने भी इस प्रकार जानकर कर्म किये हैं, इसलिये तू भी पूर्वजोंके द्वारा सदासे किये जानेवाले कर्मोंको ही कर।
