अवधूत उवाच ओं इति गदितं गगनसमं तत् न परापरसारविचार इति। अविलासविलासनिराकरणं कथमक्षरबिन्दुसमुच्चरणम् ॥१॥
Avadhuta said: The word Om is like the sky, it is not the discernment of the essence of high or low. How can there be enunciation of the point of the word Om which annuls the manifestation of the unmanifest?

avadhUta uvAca oM iti gaditaM gaganasamaM tat na parAparasAravicAra iti| avilAsavilAsanirAkaraNaM kathamakSarabindusamuccaraNam ||1||
hk transliteration by Sanscriptइति तत्त्वमसिप्रभृतिश्रुतिभिः प्रतिपादितमात्मनि तत्त्वमसि। त्वमुपाधिविवजितसर्वसमं किमु रोदिषि मानसि सर्वसमम् ॥२॥
The Upanishads-through their great dictums, such as "Thou art That" and "I am Brahman"-have declared that your inmost Atman is the Reality. You are the allembracing Sameness, devoid of all attributes. Being the selfsame Brahman, O mind, why do you weep?

iti tattvamasiprabhRtizrutibhiH pratipAditamAtmani tattvamasi| tvamupAdhivivajitasarvasamaM kimu rodiSi mAnasi sarvasamam ||2||
hk transliteration by Sanscriptअधऊर्ध्वविवजितसर्वसमं बहिरन्तरवजितसर्वसमम्। यदि चैकविवजितसर्वसमं किमु रोदिषि मानसि सर्वसमम् ॥ ३॥
The all-encompassing Brahman is devoid of below and above, interior and exterior. Moreover, It cannot be described as numerically one. Being the selfsame Brahman. O mind, why do you weep?

adhaUrdhvavivajitasarvasamaM bahirantaravajitasarvasamam| yadi caikavivajitasarvasamaM kimu rodiSi mAnasi sarvasamam || 3||
hk transliteration by Sanscriptन हि कल्पितकल्पविचार इति न हि कारणकार्यविचार इति। पदसन्धिविवजितसर्वसमं किमु रोदिषि मानसि सर्वसमम् ॥।४॥
Brahman cannot be discerned by following prescribed rules and rituals. It cannot be examined through cause and effect. It is bereft of inflected words and euphonic combinations. Being the selfsame Brahman, O mind, why do you weep?

na hi kalpitakalpavicAra iti na hi kAraNakAryavicAra iti| padasandhivivajitasarvasamaM kimu rodiSi mAnasi sarvasamam |||4||
hk transliteration by Sanscriptन हि बोधविबोधसमाधिरिति न हि देशविदेशसमाधिरिति। न हि कालविकालसमाधिरिति किमु रोदिषि मानसि सर्वसमम् ॥५॥
Brahman is not the union of consciousness and unconsciousness. It is not the meeting point of space and outer space. It is not the merging point of time and timelessness. Being the selfsame Brahman, O mind, why do you weep?

na hi bodhavibodhasamAdhiriti na hi dezavidezasamAdhiriti| na hi kAlavikAlasamAdhiriti kimu rodiSi mAnasi sarvasamam ||5||
