फेनेन तोयराशेर्वा पिचुना प्रमृजन्नसृक् । स्थिते रक्ते सुलिखितं सक्षौद्रैः प्रतिसारयेत् ॥ ६ ॥
The oozing blood should be wiped away repeatedly using sea-foam (Samudraphena / cuttlefish bone) or a pad of cotton cloth. Once the bleeding stops completely and the scraping is well executed, anointing (pratisarana) is done with rock salt mixed with honey.

यथास्वमुक्तैरनु च प्रक्षाल्योष्णेन वारिणा । घृतेन सिक्तमभ्यक्तं बध्नीयान्मधुसर्पिषा ॥ ७ ॥
After the specified time, the area is washed with warm water, sprinkled and anointed with plain ghee, and then a paste/dressing of honey and ghee is applied before bandaging.

ऊर्ध्वाधः कर्णयोर्दत्त्वा पिण्डीं च यवसक्तुभिः । द्वितीयेऽहनि मुक्तस्य परिषेकं यथायथम् ॥ ८ ॥
A bolus (pindi) prepared from roasted barley flour (yava-saktu) mixed with honey and ghee is applied over the eye, and a bandage is secured above and below the ears. On the second day, the bandage is opened and the eye is bathed/irrigated (parisheka) as appropriately indicated.

कुर्याच्चतुर्थे नस्यादीन् मुञ्चेदेवाह्नि पञ्चमे । समं नखनिभं शोफकण्डूघर्षाद्यपीडितम् ॥ ९ ॥
On the fourth day, procedures like nasal medication (nasya) should be administered, and on the fifth day, the bandage should be completely removed. When the eyelid becomes smooth and even, resembles the smooth surface of a fingernail in appearance, and is completely relieved of swelling (shopha), itching (kandū), friction (gharṣa), and other distressing symptoms, it should be recognized as properly scraped (sulikhita).

विद्यात्सुलिखितं वर्त्म लिखेद्भूयो विपर्यये । रुक्पक्ष्मवर्त्मसदनस्रंसनान्यतिलेखनात् ॥ १० ॥
If the opposite features persist, scraping should be performed once again. On the other hand, excessive scraping (atilekhana) leads to severe pain (ruk), weakness or falling of eyelash hairs (pakṣma-sadana), weakness of the eyelid, and drooping (sraṁsana) of the eyelid.
