अथानिलज उन्मादे स्नेहपानं प्रयोजयेत् । पूर्वमावृतमार्गे तु सस्नेहं मृदु शोधनम् ॥ १८ ॥

In insanity caused by Vata, internal oleation (drinking of medicated fats/ghee) should be administered first; however, if there is an obstruction of the channels, a mild purification therapy (purgation) mixed with fats should be given.
