स यं स्पृशेद्भृशं देशं यत्र च स्पर्शनाक्षमः । तत्र विद्याद्रुजं मूर्ध्नि रुजं चाक्षिनिमीलनात् ॥ ६ ॥
The specific part of the body that the infant repeatedly touches, or does not allow to be touched due to tenderness, should be recognized as the site of the pain. Furthermore, pain in the head (headache) is indicated specifically by the continuous, tight closing of the eyelids.

Pain in the heart (chest area) is indicated by the biting of the tongue and lips, difficult breathing (dyspnea), and clenching of the fists. Pain in the abdomen (alimentary tract) is indicated by constipation, vomiting, biting of the breast during feeding, and intestinal gurgling (borborygmi).
