सुरूढं जातरोमाणं श्लिष्टसन्धिं समं स्थिरम् । सुवर्ष्माणमरोगं च शनैः कर्णं विवर्धयेत् ॥ ५५ ॥

The ulcer which has cleared well, with growth of hairs, the joints well-knit, even and static, well developed (reached the proper shape) and not having any disease, the ear should be made to grow gradually.
