Astanga Hrudaya
कटिल्लं केम्बुकं शीतं सकोशातककर्कशम्। तिक्तं पाके कटु ग्राहि वातलं कफपित्तजित् ॥७८॥
katilla (raktapunarnava), kebuka (kembuka),kosataka, and karkasa (kampilla) all these are cold in potency, bitter in taste, pungent at the end of digestion, with hold the movement of fluids, increase vatta and mitigate kapha and pitta.

kaTillaM kembukaM zItaM sakozAtakakarkazam। tiktaM pAke kaTu grAhi vAtalaM kaphapittajit ॥78॥
