Astanga Hrudaya
हृद्यं पटोलं कृमिनुत्स्वादुपाकं रुचिप्रदम्। पित्तलं दीपनं भेदि वातघ्नं बृहतीद्वयम् ॥७९॥
Patola is good for the heart (or the mind), useful in worms, sweet at the end of digestion and gives taste. The two Brihatis (Brihati and Kantakari) increases pitta, promote hunger, breaks the hard faeces.
