Astanga Hrudaya
सतिक्तकटुकक्षारं तीक्ष्णमुत्क्लेदि चौद्भिदम्। कृष्णे सौवर्चलगुणा लवणे गन्धवर्जिताः॥१४८॥
Aubdhida is slightly bitter, pungent and alkaline in taste, penetrates deep and increases the secretions. Krisna lavana (black salt) has properties similar to souvarcala except the smell.
