Astanga Hrudaya
शाखावातहरं साम्ललवणं जडताकरम् । पयोऽभिष्यन्दि गुर्वामं, युक्त्या शृतमतोऽन्यथा ॥२८॥
It destroys the Vata dosha of the branches (legs, arms, blood etc. metals and skin). It is somewhat sour and salty in taste and causes inertia (laziness and stupidity). Raw (unheated) milk is abhishyandi (poisonous) and heavy in digestion. Milk cooked properly has the opposite quality of this (raw).

शाखाओं (टाँगों, बाँहों, रक्त आदि धातुओं एवं त्वचा ) के वातदोष का नाशक है। यह कुछ खट्टा एवं लवणरस युक्त होता है और जड़ता (आलस्य एवं बुद्धिहीनता) कारक होता हैI कच्चा ( बिना गरम किया) दूध अभिष्यन्दी एवं गुरु, पाक में भारी होता है। विधिवत् पकाया गया दूध इस ( कच्चे ) के विपरीत गुण वाला होता है ।
