सर्वार्थानर्थकरणे विश्वस्यास्यैककारणम् । अदुष्टदुष्टः पवनः शरीरस्य विशेषतः ॥ १ ॥

Normal and abnormal vata: Cause for all the good and bad in the body : For all the good and bad of all world, unvitiated – normal and the vitiated – the abnormal Vata (air) respectively, is the only cause; especially so in the human body.

english translation

sarvArthAnarthakaraNe vizvasyAsyaikakAraNam । aduSTaduSTaH pavanaH zarIrasya vizeSataH ॥ 1 ॥
