Astanga Hrudaya
सतृड्दाहज्वरस्वेददवक्लेदमदभ्रमः । शीताभिलाषी विड्भेदी गन्धी स्पर्शासहो मृदुः ॥ ३४ ॥
The condition is accompanied by excessive thirst (trishna), a burning sensation (daha), fever (jwara), profuse perspiration (sweda), local heat, increased moisture or exudation (kleda), intoxication (mada), and dizziness (bhrama). The patient strongly desires cold things, experiences loose stools/diarrhea (vid-bhedi), and the swelling itself emits a foul odor, is tender/intolerant to touch, and feels soft to the touch.
