कोष्ठशाखाश्रयां पित्तं दग्ध्वासृङ्मांसमावहेत् । हारिद्रनेत्रमूत्रत्वङ्नखवक्त्रशकृत्तया ॥ १६ ॥

burns up the blood and muscles, and produces Kamala roga (jaundice), localized in the koshta (alimentary tract) and the shakha (tissues). This produces a deep yellow (turmeric-like) coloration of the eyes, urine, skin, nails, mouth, and feces.

दाहाविपाकतृष्णावान् भेकाभो दुर्बलेन्द्रियः । भवेत्पित्तोल्बणस्यासौ पाण्डुरोगादृतेऽपि च ॥ १७ ॥

The patient experiences a burning sensation, indigestion, excessive thirst, a skin color resembling a frog (greenish-brown), and weakness of the sense organs. Kamala can also happen even without panduroga (anemia) in persons who have a severe, primary aggravation of pitta.
