Astanga Hrudaya
यथास्वं व्रणवत् तत्र विवर्ज्यः सन्निपातजः । पक्वो हृन्नाभिबस्तिस्थो भिन्नोऽन्तर्बहिरेव वा ॥ १८ ॥
The features of the doshas and of the exudates in abscesses should be understood as similar to those of an ulcer (organic ulcer and not traumatic wound). Sadhyasadhyata (prognosis): Those produced by all the doshas together; those located in the heart, umbilicus and urinary bladder, which have burst after ripening either inside or outside;
