जर्जरं स्नेहमूत्राक्तमन्तर्धूमं विपाचयेत् । शरावसन्धौ मृल्लिप्ते क्षारः कल्याणकाह्वयः ॥ १४१ ॥
are coarsely ground (jarjaram), mixed with fat (ghee or oil) and cow's urine, placed inside a pair of earthen bowls (śarāva) whose joints are sealed with mud (mṛl-lipte), and subjected to concealed heating (antar-dhūmam). The alkali thus obtained is known as Kalyāṇaka Kṣāra.

When consumed along with ghee, or taken with meals by a person eating unctuous food, it destroys udāvarta (upward movement of gases), vibandha (constipation), arśas (hemorrhoids), gulma (abdominal tumors), pāṇḍu (anemia), udara (ascites/enlarged abdomen), and kṛmi (intestinal worms).

It also cures mūtasaṅga (difficulty in urination), aśmarī (urinary calculi), śopha (edema/inflammation), hṛdroga (cardiac disorders), grahaṇī-gadān (duodenal disorders), meha (obstinate urinary disorders/diabetes), plīhā-rujā (splenic pain/disorders), ānāha (distention of abdomen), śvāsa (dyspnea), and kāsa (cough).

This undergoes a kind of acidic fermentation in one month and generates very good heat and digestion strength restores downward movement of Vata in the gut, gudaja – wins over hemorrhoids, plīha – splenomegaly, gulma – abdominal tumour and udara – ascites.

hk transliteration by Sanscriptपचेत्तुलां पूतिकरञ्जवल्काद्द्वे मूलतश्चित्रककण्टकार्योः । द्रोणत्रयेऽपि चरणावशेषे पूते शतं तत्र गुडस्य दद्यात् ॥ १४५ ॥
One Tula (4.8 kg) of the bark of pūtikarañja – Caesalpinia bonduc, and two Tula (9.6 kg) of the roots of citraka – Plumbago zeylanica and kaṇṭakārī – Solanum xanthocarpum combined, are boiled in three Droṇa (36.864 liters) of water until it reduces to one-fourth (caraṇa-avaśeṣe). This filtered decoction is then added with one hundred Pala (4.8 kg) of jaggery (guḍasya).
