Arthashastra
वैराज्यं तु जीवतः परस्य आच्छिद्य "न एतन् मम" इति मन्यमानः कर्शयति, अपवाहयति, पण्यं वा करोति, विरक्तं वा परित्यज्य अपगच्छति इति ॥
Foreign rule which comes into existence by seizing the country from its king still alive, thinks that the country is not its own, impoverishes it, and carries off its wealth, or treats it as a commercial article; and when the country ceases to love it, it retires abandoning the country.
english translation
vairAjyaM tu jIvataH parasya Acchidya "na etan mama" iti manyamAnaH karzayati, apavAhayati, paNyaM vA karoti, viraktaM vA parityajya apagacchati iti ॥
