स्वादुना तस्य रसनं प्रथमेनातितर्पितम् । न तथा स्वादयेदन्यत्तस्मात् प्रक्षाल्यमन्तरा ॥४८०॥
If the taste buds are first fully satisfied with something delicious, they will not enjoy other flavors as much. Therefore, one should rinse the mouth in between.

यदि स्वाद ग्रंथियाँ पहले किसी स्वादिष्ट पदार्थ से पूरी तरह संतुष्ट हो जाती हैं, तो वे अन्य स्वादों का उतना आनंद नहीं लेंगी। इसलिए, मुँह को बीच में धोना चाहिए।
