सामुद्रं मधुरं पाके नात्युष्णमविदाहि च । भेदन स्निग्धमीषच्च शूलघ्नं नातिपित्तलम् ॥३१५॥

Sea salt is sweet in taste, not too hot, and non-burning. It is perforative, oily, and alleviates pain, and it is not excessively pitta-aggravating.

english translation

समुद्री नमक स्वाद में मधुर, अत्यधिक गर्म नहीं, और जलनकारक नहीं होता है। यह छेदनकारी, तैलीय, और शूल (दर्द) को दूर करने वाला होता है, और अत्यधिक पित्त-संवर्धक नहीं होता है।
