Ghee that is old, sharp in taste, and has a pungent digestion effect, alleviates the three doshas, and is beneficial for conditions such as dizziness, insanity, abdominal disorders, fever, and chronic cough. It also aids in relieving pain, stimulating digestion, and filling in deficiencies in the urinary tract, ears, eyes, and head.

It is said that old ghee is beneficial for conditions such as night blindness, breathlessness, obesity, fever, and joint pain. It also helps in relieving dizziness, skin disorders, poisoning, mental disturbances, seizures, and epilepsy.

Ghee that has been stored for eleven hundred years is known as "Kumbhaghee" and is said to be very effective in protecting against evil spirits. On the other hand, "Mahaghee" refers to the supreme quality of ghee.
