जन्म तु द्रव्यरसयोरन्योन्यापेक्षिकं स्मृतम् । अन्योन्यापेक्षिकं जन्म यथा स्याद्देहदेहिनोः ॥१६॥
The birth of substances and tastes is considered interdependent. Just as the body and its inhabitant are interdependent, so is the birth of substances and tastes.

द्रव्य और रस का जन्म परस्पर निर्भर माना जाता है। जैसे शरीर और उसमें निवास करने वाला परस्पर निर्भर होते हैं, वैसे ही द्रव्य और रस का जन्म भी होता है।
