रसादेव स्त्रिया रक्तं रजःसञ्ज्ञं प्रवर्तते । तद्वर्षाद्द्वादशादूर्ध्वं याति पञ्चाशतः क्षयम् ॥६॥
"From Rasa (the essence of digested food), in women, the blood known as Rajas (menstrual blood) is produced. It begins after twelve years and gradually diminishes after fifty years."

"रस से ही स्त्रियों में रक्त, जिसे रजः कहा जाता है, उत्पन्न होता है। यह बारह वर्ष की आयु के बाद प्रवाहित होता है और पचास वर्ष की आयु के बाद धीरे-धीरे क्षीण होने लगता है।"
