In that case, the leech should be applied to the area of the blood with a well-cleaned and properly attached horn. The leech should be used to draw out the blood, and it should be applied in a way that maintains warmth. (The types of leeches will be described later.)

Leeches that are associated with water are called Jalamāsā or Jalāyuka, and leeches that are associated with water and moisture are called Jalauka.
