The descending arteries carry the vital elements such as wind, urine, feces, and semen downwards. They reach the gallbladder, where they process the essence of food and drink, contributing to the nourishment of the body, while also supplying the ascending and transverse arteries. They also fill the site of digestion and manage the excretions of urine, feces, and sweat. These arteries originate in three different forms from the lower abdomen, numbering thirty in total. Among them, the wind, bile, phlegm, blood, and essence are carried in pairs. There are two arteries associated with food transport, two carrying fluid, two associated with the bladder, two for the production of semen, and two for the menstrual cycle in women. The descending arteries also facilitate the excretion of blood during menstruation and aid in the discharging of reproductive fluid. They also provide sweat from eight types of transverse arteries. Thus, these thirty arteries with their respective functions are described. Through these arteries, the large intestine, urinary bladder, and other essential organs are nourished and supported.
