मर्माभिघातस्तु न कश्चिदस्ति योऽल्पात्ययो वाऽपि निरत्ययो वा । प्रायेण मर्मस्वभिताडितास्तु वैकल्यमृच्छन्त्यथवा म्रियन्ते ॥४२॥
There is no injury to the vital points that is not caused by either a minor or major assault. Generally, those who are struck at the vital points either suffer disability or die.

कोई भी मर्मों को चोट पहुँचाने वाली चोट नहीं होती, जो अल्प या अधिक दंड से न हो। सामान्यतः, जो मर्मों पर चोटिल होते हैं, वे या तो विकलांगता प्राप्त करते हैं या मर जाते हैं।
