मिथ्याहाराचारस्य विशेषाद्गुरुविरुद्धासात्म्याजीर्णाहिताशिनः स्नेहपीतस्य वान्तस्य वा व्यायामग्राम्यधर्मसेविनो ग्राम्यानूपौदकमांसानि वा पयसाऽभीक्ष्णमश्नतो यो वा मज्जत्यप्सूष्माभितप्तः सहसा छर्दिं वा प्रतिहन्ति, तस्य पित्तश्लेष्माणौ प्रकुपितौ परिगृह्यानिलः प्रवृद्धस्तिर्यग्गाः सिराः सम्प्रपद्य समुद्धूय बाह्यं मार्गं प्रति समन्ताद्विक्षिपति, यत्र यत्र च दोषो विक्षिप्तो निश्चरति तत्र तत्र मण्डलानि प्रादुर्भवन्ति, एवं समुत्पन्नस्त्वचि दोषस्तत्र तत्र च परिवृद्धिं प्राप्याप्रतिक्रियमाणोऽभ्यन्तरं प्रतिपद्यते धातूनभिदूषयन् ॥३॥
Due to improper diet and lifestyle, especially consuming heavy, incompatible, unsuitable, undigested, and harmful foods, drinking oil or ghee, vomiting, excessive exercise, engaging in sexual activities, consuming water and meat from marshy or aquatic animals frequently, or suddenly immersing in cold water or suppressing vomiting, the vitiated Pitta and Kapha, aggravated by these factors, get obstructed by Vata. The increased Vata moves through the blood vessels and disturbs the body's pathways, causing disturbances in the skin wherever these aggravated Doshas spread, resulting in the appearance of circular lesions. As these Doshas affect the skin, if left untreated, they gradually invade deeper tissues, affecting the body further.

गलत आहार-विहार के कारण, विशेष रूप से भारी, विरुद्ध, असात्म्य, अपच, और अहितकारी भोजन का सेवन, स्नेहपान, वमन, अत्यधिक व्यायाम, ग्राम्यधर्म में लिप्त होना, नदियों या तालाबों के मांस और पानी का बार-बार सेवन, या अचानक ठंडे पानी में डूबना या वमन को रोकना, पित्त और कफ को कुपित कर देता है। यह वात के द्वारा अवरुद्ध हो जाता है, और बढ़ा हुआ वात रक्त वाहिकाओं के माध्यम से शरीर में विचरण करते हुए त्वचा के मार्गों को बाधित कर देता है, जिससे जहां-जहां दोष फैलता है, वहां-वहां गोल आकार के चकत्ते उत्पन्न होते हैं। इस प्रकार उत्पन्न दोष त्वचा में बढ़ते हुए यदि समय पर उपचार न किया जाए तो शरीर के आंतरिक धातुओं को दूषित कर देता है।

The premonitory symptoms of this condition are roughness of the skin, sudden goosebumps, itching, excessive sweating or lack of sweating in certain parts of the body, numbness, the feeling of wounds spreading, and blackish discoloration of the blood.
