जिह्वातले यः श्वयथुः प्रगाढः सोऽलाससञ्ज्ञः कफरक्तमूर्तिः । जिह्वां स तु स्तम्भयति प्रवृद्धो मूले तु जिह्वा भृशमेति पाकम् ॥३८॥
The severe swelling of the tongue, known as Alasa, appears as a manifestation of phlegm and blood. When it becomes prominent, it restricts movement, and the tongue becomes very tender and painful.
