श्लेष्मात्मकः सरति मन्दमशीघ्रपाकः स्निग्धः सितश्वयथुरल्परुगुग्रकण्डुः | सर्वात्मकस्त्रिविधवर्णरुजोऽवगाढः पक्वो न सिध्यति च मांससिराप्रशातात् ||६||

The Kaphaja type is characterized by slow or rapid suppuration, a slimy nature, a white appearance, and mild pain. It is deeply seated with tridoshic symptoms and will not be cured due to the destruction of flesh and veins.

A person afflicted with an acute wound will experience swelling due to an aggravation of Pitta and blood. The swelling appears bluish, with a red hue, accompanied by high fever, burning sensation, and suppuration, resembling vesicles like Kulattha pulses.

The Vataja, Kaphaja, and Pittaja types of Visarpa are curable, while those caused by wounds do not attain resolution. Both the Paittika and Vataja types exhibit previously mentioned signs, and all of them can be difficult to cure when they affect vital points of the body.

शोफं न पक्वमिति पक्वमुपेक्षते यो यो वा व्रणं प्रचुरपूयमसाधुवृत्तः | अभ्यन्तरं प्रविशति प्रविदार्य तस्य स्थानानि पूर्वविहितानि ततः स पूयः ||९||

A swelling that is not resolved is neglected by those who have a wound filled with excessive pus and poor quality. When this pus enters internally, it will cause the same conditions as previously described; thus, it is the pus.

Due to excessive movement, it is considered a Nadi as it carries the pus. It is produced by the three Doshas, and each of them can cause it separately. It can also be caused by other factors such as surgical conditions.
