कफमारग्वधाद्येन सक्षौद्रेण गणेन तु | श्लेष्मघ्नैरगदैश्चैव तिक्तै रूक्षैश्च भोजनैः ||५४||

चिकित्सक को कफ को कम करने वाली तथा उसके कारण होने वाली विकृतियों को नष्ट करने वाली औषधियों का प्रयोग करना चाहिए। इन्हें खट्टे पदार्थों के साथ मिलाना चाहिए, तथा आहार में कड़वे, शुष्क तथा कसैले खाद्य पदार्थों को शामिल करना चाहिए, ताकि अतिरिक्त कफ के प्रभाव को कम किया जा सके।
