If it affects the blood, purification, applications, drinking of decoctions, and bloodletting should be performed. When it affects the muscle tissue, purification, applications, drinking of decoctions, bloodletting, and the intake of arishta (fermented preparations) and mantha (herbal drinks) should be done. In the fourth stage, where the disease has reached a chronic state, it requires treatment based on the strength and constitution of the patient. After purification and bloodletting, remedies involving bhallataka, shilajatu, metals like iron, guggulu, aguru, tuvaraka, and khadira should be used. The fifth stage should not be treated.
