Now we shall expound the medical treatment of glandular swellings (Granthi), scurvy (Apachi), tumors (Arvuda), and goitre (Gala-ganda).

The physician who knows the treatment of glandular swellings should thoroughly understand the symptoms of the disease. He should also protect the strength of the person continually, as that protected strength overcomes the power of the disease.

hk transliteration by Sanscriptतैलं पिबेत् सर्पिरथो द्वयं वा दत्त्वा वसां वा त्रिवृतं विदध्यात् । अपेहिवातादशमूलसिद्धं वैद्यश्चतुःस्नेहमथो द्वयं वा ॥४॥
The patient should drink oil or ghee or both, and after that, the physician should administer a decoction of Trivrit. If the disease is caused by Vata, the physician should prepare the four kinds of Sneha or two kinds as necessary.

रोगी को तैल या घी या दोनों का सेवन करना चाहिए, और उसके बाद, वैद्य को त्रिवृत का काढ़ा देना चाहिए। यदि रोग वात के कारण है, तो वैद्य को आवश्यकतानुसार चार प्रकार के स्नেহ या दो प्रकार तैयार करना चाहिए।

For the treatment of glandular swellings, a paste should be prepared with the following ingredients: Himsra, Rohini, Mrityunjaya, Bhargavi, Shyonaka, Bilva, Aguru, and Krishna Gandha, along with powdered Goji and Talapatra. This paste is to be applied externally to swellings caused by Vata.
