"There are two types of ulcers: the bodily and the traumatic. The bodily ulcer arises from the accumulation of the doshas (Vata, Pitta, Kapha) and the blood due to various causes. The traumatic ulcer is caused by the injury from the fall of a person, animal, bird, or serpent, or by the impact of weapons like axes, sharp tools, and others. Among these, when the characteristics of the two ulcers are the same, and the reasons for their emergence and the aims of treatment are similar, they are referred to as 'dvivraṇīya' (two kinds of ulcers)."
