रुजावतां दारुणानां कठिनानां तथैव च । शोफानां स्वेदनं कार्यं ये चाप्येवंविधा व्रणाः ॥२१॥
Sweating should be performed for those suffering from severe and hard pain, as well as for the swellings that are of this nature.

For those with stable pain, mild application should be done; after anointing and sweating, then gradually treat using a bamboo pipe.

The wise physician should rub (the affected area) with the palm or with the thumb; for the swelling or pain, he should apply a poultice for those who are unskilled.

ज्ञानी चिकित्सक को (प्रभावित क्षेत्र) को हथेली या अंगूठे से मलना चाहिए; सूजन या पीड़ा के लिए, उसे अनजान लोगों के लिए एक लेप लगाना चाहिए।

The unskilled (patient) attains relief, while the skilled (one) achieves a cure; the swelling that does not subside is treated by the remedies of elimination.
