अकर्कशमविच्छिन्नमजीर्णं सुकुमारकम् । अजन्तुजग्धं मृदु च पत्रं गुणवदुच्यते ॥११६॥
A leaf that is soft, without roughness, undamaged, easily digestible, tender, free from insects, and mild is considered to be of good quality.

जो पत्ता कोमल हो, खुरदुरा न हो, बिना टूट-फूट का हो, आसानी से पचने वाला हो, कोमल, कीड़ों से मुक्त और मृदु हो, उसे गुणकारी माना जाता है।

A cloth soaked with oil or medicinal extracts, placed between the leaves, should be applied to the wound when the leaf does not absorb the medication well.

जब पत्ता औषधि या तेल को अच्छी तरह से अवशोषित नहीं करता है, तो उस पत्ते के ऊपर एक कपड़ा, जो तेल या औषधि में डूबा हो, रखना चाहिए और फिर उसे घाव पर लगाना चाहिए।

For the purpose of inducing cold or heat, or for absorbing the applied medicated oils, a physician should wisely use appropriate leaves with the medicine.

Intense and strange pains occur along with bleeding. In such cases, washing and filling the wound with herbs like Surasa (holy basil) and others are beneficial.
