Surya Siddhanta
युद्धम् अम्शुविमर्दाख्यम् अम्शुयोगे परस्परम् । अम्शाद् ऊने +अपसव्याख्यम् युद्धम् एको +अत्र चेद् अणुह्॥
When there is mutual mingling of rays, it is called angçuvimardwa (ray-obliteration). When the interval is less than a degree, the encounter (yuddha) is called apasavya (Dexter), and in this, if one star is smaller, then, it is called prakasha (visible) encounter and otherwise it is called aprakasha (invisible) encounter. If the interval is more than a degree and the planets are powerful (valavana), in this case, we have samägama.
