प्राणादिः कथितो मूर्तस् त्रुट्याद्यो +अमूर्तसम्ज्ञकः। षड्भिः प्राणैर् विनाडी स्यात् तत्षष्ट्या नाडिका स्मृता ॥
The time called Múrta, begins with Práṇa (a portion of time which contains four seconds,) and the time called Amúrta begins with Truṭi (a very small portion of time which is the 1 / 33750 th part of a second.) The time which contains six Práṇas is called a Pala, and that which contains sixty Palas is called a Ghaṭiká.
english translation
prANAdiH kathito mUrtas truTyAdyo +amUrtasamjJakaH। SaDbhiH prANair vinADI syAt tatSaSTyA nADikA smRtA ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptनाडीषष्ट्या तु नाक्षत्रम् अहोरात्रम् प्रकीर्तितम्। तत्त्रिम्शता भवेन् मासः सावनो +अर्कोदयैस् तथा ॥
The time, which contains sixty Ghaṭikás is called a Nákshatra Ahorátra (a sidereal day and night) and a Nákshatra Mása (a sidereal month) consists of thirty Nákshatra Ahorátras. Thirty Sávana (terrestrial) days (a terrestrial day being reckoned from sun-rise to sun-rise) make a Sávana month.

nADISaSTyA tu nAkSatram ahorAtram prakIrtitam। tattrimzatA bhaven mAsaH sAvano +arkodayais tathA ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptऐन्दवस् तिथिभिस् तद्वत् सम्क्रान्त्या सौर उच्यते। मासैर् द्वादशभिर् वर्षम् दिव्यम् तद् अह उच्यते ॥
Thirty lunar days make a lunar days make a lunar month, and a solar month is the time which the Sun requires to move from one sign[1] of the Zodiac to the next. A solar year consists of twelve solar months; and this is called a day of the Gods.

aindavas tithibhis tadvat samkrAntyA saura ucyate। mAsair dvAdazabhir varSam divyam tad aha ucyate ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptसुरासुराणाम् अन्योन्यम् अहोरात्रम् विपर्ययात्। तत्षष्टिः षड्गुणा दिव्यम् वर्षम् आसुरम् एव च ॥
An Ahorátra (day and night) of the Gods and that of the Demons are mutually the reverse of each other, (viz. a day of the Gods is the night of the Demons; and conversely, a night of the Gods is the day of the Demons). Sixty Ahorátras, multiplied by six, make a year of the Gods and Demons.

hk transliteration by Sanscriptतद्द्वादशसहस्राणि चतुर्युगम् उदाहृतम्। सूर्याब्दसम्ख्यया द्वित्रिसागरैर् अयुताहतैः ॥
The time containing twelve thousand years of the Gods is called a Chaturyuga (the aggregate of the four yugas, Krịta, Treṭá, Dwápara and Kali).
