सन्ध्यासन्ध्याम्शसहितम् विज्ञेयम् तच्चतुर्युगम्। ख कृतादीनाम् व्यवस्थेयम् धर्मपादव्यवस्थया ॥
These four yugas including their Sandhyá[2] and Sandhyáns'a contain 4,320,000 solar years. The numbers of years included in these four small yugas are proportional to the numbers of the legs of Dharma[3] (virtue personified).

sandhyAsandhyAmzasahitam vijJeyam taccaturyugam। kha kRtAdInAm vyavastheyam dharmapAdavyavasthayA ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptयुगस्य दशमो भागश् चतुस्त्रिद्व्येकसङ्गुणः। क्रमात् कृतयुगादीनाम् षष्ठाम्शः सन्ध्ययोः स्वकः ॥
The tenth part of 4,320,000 the number of years in a great yuga, multiplied by 4, 3, 2, 1 respectively make up the years of each of the four yugas, Krịta and others, the years of each yuga include their own sixth part, which is collectively the number of years of Sandhyá and Sandhyáns'a, (the periods at the commencement and expiration of each yuga).

yugasya dazamo bhAgaz catustridvyekasaGguNaH। kramAt kRtayugAdInAm SaSThAmzaH sandhyayoH svakaH ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptयुगानाम् सप्ततिः सैका मन्वन्तरम् इहोच्यते। कृताब्दसम्ख्यास् तस्यान्ते सन्धिः प्रोक्तो जलप्लवः ॥
(According to the technicality of time called Múrta,) 71 great yugas (containing 306,720,000 solar years) constitute a Manwantara (a period from the beginning of a Manu to its end) and at the end of it, 1,728,000 the whole number of the (solar) years of the Krịta, is called its Sandhi; and it is the time when a universal deluge happens.

hk transliteration by Sanscriptससन्धयस् ते मनवः कल्पे ज्ञेयास् चतुर्दश। कृतप्रमाणः कल्पादौ सन्धिः पञ्चदशः स्मृतः ॥
english translation
Fourteen such Manus with their Sandhis (as mentioned before), constitute a Kalpa, at the beginning of which is the fifteenth Sandhi which contains as many years as a Krịta does.

sasandhayas te manavaH kalpe jJeyAs caturdaza। kRtapramANaH kalpAdau sandhiH paJcadazaH smRtaH ॥
hk transliteration by Sanscriptइत्थम् युगसहस्रेण भूतसम्हारकारकः। कल्पो ब्राह्मम् अहः प्रोक्तम् शर्वरी तस्य तावती ॥
Thus a thousand of the great yugas make a Kalpa, a period which destroys the whole world. It is a day of the God Brahmá, and his night is equal to his day.

ittham yugasahasreNa bhUtasamhArakArakaH। kalpo brAhmam ahaH proktam zarvarI tasya tAvatI ॥
